Spirituality
It can be described as:

the power in a person's life that gives meaning, purpose and fulfilment; the will to live; the belief or faith that a person has in self, others and in a power beyond self. (Renetzky 1979)

It is about the way we relate to one another, to the world around us and to what we perceive to be divine.

Our core spiritual needs can include the need:
· to love and be loved, engaging in fulfilling relationships
· to express our sexuality
· to keep a sense of our own identity and self-worth
· for reconciliation or forgiveness
· the space to be quiet.

Our spirit is unique to each of us. For some, spirituality is structured, clearly defined, expressed through a recognised religion and well resourced. For others, expression of spirituality may be more fluid and difficult to define but non-the-less significant and life-enhancing. For some spiritual focus is belief in a higher being (God), while others commune with a number of spiritual beings or may not believe in a god at all.
Spirituality can be expressed in numerous ways, including:

religion

liturgy
§
music

art
§
literature
§
nature
§
meditation
§
prayer
§
stillness

We would like to hear from you. What does spirituality mean to you? Tell us about your religion. How do you express your faith?

Perhaps you have questions which you would like to put to others for your own deeper understanding.

This site is about giving space to the exploration of whatever gives value and meaning to your life. Let us use it together to explore, develop and enrich one another.

Can I help?

Spiritual and religious life is a journey. Sometimes that journey can be challenging, and faith may elude us or need to be re-defined.

At those times we may find it helpful to have someone to journey with us, to help us through the transition or to help us re-define who we are and where we are going.

Coaching can help you consider the blocks and hindrances in your spiritual journey. Through the support of Spiritual Coaching you can be helped in your search for a deeper meaning and purpose to your life.

I have been an ordained Minister for eleven years, hold a First Class Honours degree in Theology and have been a Spiritual Healthcare Provider within the NHS for eight years.
